Hue, the former capital of Vietnam, is known as the Imperial City. It is divided between the older fortified Citadel, containing almost everything interesting, and the new, smaller sprawl that has developed across the river. The new side contains most of the facilities, the hotels, restaurants, businesses and banks. Tourists visit to Hue to explore the old Imperial complex, the Citadel and the Forbidden City, the pagodas, and the many tombs of the emperors that lie a few kilometres south of the city. Each tomb is a walled compound containing temples, palaces, and lakes.

How to get there

Hue has a very small airport that has maybe one, at most 2 runways. It shouldn’t be surprising considering the small size of the city. It was a long way from town, and we couldn’t see it from the road at all.

Attractions in Hue

Hue Riders: Motorcycling through the villages, rice fields, mountains, valleys, rivers, beaches and meet with local people along the way. A motorbike really is a great way to get around the country given the appalling state of many of Vietnam country’s roads though to somebody’s credit, many are getting some kind of upgrade now and contrary to what one may assume, you do not have to be an experienced rider to navigate most of these roads.

Tomb of Khai Dinh: The overall construction of the tomb is an emerging rectangular structure with 127 steps, leaning against the mountain.- Entering the tomb area, one should climb a 37 steps gate with the biggest dragons in the country forming the side walls. In the courtyard, line two rows of left and right altar built according to traditional configuration of “double storeys with eight roofs”, but all the rafters are made of reinforced concrete.

Accommodation

Dong Phuong Hotel The hotel is located in the city center, near the beautiful Huong River, and only a few minutes to Truong Tien Bridge, Ancient Citadel, world cultural relics and Hue’s famous landscapes.

Imperial Hotel Imperial Hotel is the top hotel in Viet Nam, the first five star and unique hotel in Hue with modern and luxurious material facilities and technologies system, combining the architecture of oriental culture and mixing Imperial palace culture.

Dalat, which today counts about 200.000 inhabitants, was founded only in 1897 by the French colonial masters. Since beginning of the Twentieth Century, this charming town has been the main spot for Vietnam holidays for both Vietnamese people and foreigners.

Getting there

Bus is usual method of getting to and from Da Lat from any other destination in Vietnam. Open Tour buses leave Ho Chi Minh City at around 07:30 and the journey time is roughly seven hours, ticket price 60,000 in Vietnamese currency. Flights are also available from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Where to stay

SOFITEL PALACE DALAT HOTEL- 5 star: Located in the very heart of Dalat surrounded by a superb park at the edge of a lake. Original style and charm from the 1920 s. Airport shuttle service, 38 rooms and 5 suites with fully facilities, Gourmet restaurant, international and local cuisine at the brasserie, a piano bar and “Larry’s” bar, 7 meeting rooms for up to 300 people. Shops, Tennis courts and Golf course nearby.

Ngoc Lan Hotel Da Lat – 4Star: Ngoc Lan Hotel has been open since June 2007, and is not only a hallmark of Dalat but also has unique Asian-European architecture with luxurious and modern facilities. Ngoc Lan hotel is currently honoured to be the most ideal and beautiful location in Dalat.

What to do

The Flower Gardens sit at the lake’s northern edge and are average at best. Marble walkways lead through the flower displays and some comment that the design is not fantastic.

XUAN HUONG LAKE Created by a dam in 1919, banana-shaped Xuan Huong Lake was named after a 17th-century Vietnamese poet known for her daring attacks on the hypocrisy of social conventions and the foibles of scholars, monks, mandarins and kings. The lake can be circumnavigated along a 7km sealed path that leads past several of Dalat’s main sights, including the flower gardens, golf club and the majestic hilltop Hotel Sofitel Dalat Palace

If you are thinking of staying in a nice beach location on your Vietnam holidays then why not considering Da Nang. This location in central Vietnam has around 30 kilometres of sandy beaches not crowded at all with few very comfortable and luxurious beach resorts. Not only it is a favourite destination for tourists it is also frequented by the local population of Da Nang and other cities in the area.

One of the most popular beaches in Da Nang is My Khe. It is one of the most popular beaches amongst both domestic and international tourism. With around 1 kilometre in length My Khe it is also one of the most crowded beaches in the area.

It is an ideal and huge beach with smooth sand and a slight slope. Behind the beach is a dark green poplar forest, and beside, the Kinh River carries crystal water to the sea. The beach has coral, abundant plants and creatures along bankside and under sea. Especially, the beach is next to the city centre, in roads easy to come and by various means of transport.

The beach has hotels, pleasure-houses and various abundant services, creating favourable conditions for tourists to relax on the seashores. There are 50 well-equipped and comfortable bedrooms and lots of services in My Khe hotel. Many luxurious seaside villas with over 100 rooms are available for families. You can come here to play and rest at weekend.

The land market in Da Nang has boomed recently with many more completed transactions and rising prices. The land plots on advantageous positions in coastal residential quarters, like Pham Van Dong and My Khe areas, have seen the sale prices skyrocketing. Analysts say that the prices of land in the areas have increased by two fold in comparison with 2009.

Da nang is easily accessible by air as it has its own international airport. There are also flights available within Vietnam and it is possible to fly to other cities such as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City from Da Nang.

Nha Trang is unquestionably stunning and a must see place in your Vietnam holidays. It is surrounded by mountains, with the beach tracing an impressive long plunge along a bay dotted with tiny islands. In the resort town encompassing several blocks of hotels, tourist shops, bars and international restaurants; one can also enjoy a bustling Vietnamese city.

How to Get There

Because no one in Vietnam follows road rules or maybe because simply there are no rules is best to travel by plane or by train unless of course you are coming from a nearby city where a road transfer is feasible. Nha Trang is located in central Vietnam and it takes less than 2 hours to fly from Hanoi or Saigon. A train ticket can also be booked but the journey takes around 12 hours.

Accommodation

With a wonderful beach town and its interesting outdoor amusements: hot water springs, colorful fish and coral reefs underwater where tourists can enjoys scuba diving and snorkelling. All you need to make your experience really enjoyable is good accommodation.

Six Senses Hideaway Ninh Van Bay sits on dramatic Ninh Van Bay, with its impressive rock formations overlooking the South China Sea, white sand beach and towering mountains behind, all adding to the sense of being luxuriously at one with nature. The exclusive property also presents the reality of the destination, with an architectural style reflecting the traditions of Vietnam.

Diamond Bay Resort Nha Trang: Three hundred and forty-two beachside rooms along the secluded Song Lo Bay in Nha Trang allow visitors to enjoy one of Vietnam’s newest suites and villas. The resort includes state-of-the-art amenities and wireless Internet connection for guests to keep in contact with friends and family or to get some last minute business done.

Attractions in Nha Trang

Long So’N Pagoda: Not to do any evil. To perform what is good. To keep one’s own heart pure. These are the teachings of Lord Buddha. Indeed, these and other teachings are found scripted on the walls of Nha Trang’s largest pagoda in both Vietnamese and English.

XQ Art Center: This is not only an art center; it’s a gallery, a garden, a tea patch, a workshop, a framing shop, and a historical account of the exquisite embroidery art of Vietnam. Sure, we had seen some form of it on our way to Ha Long Bay at the Dong Trieu Pottery Village, but this space was totally dedicated to the embroidery, and the showroom is not to be missed.

Sapa is an incredibly picturesque village that lies on the Hoang Lien Son mountain range near the Chinese border in NW Vietnam. It is called as “the Tonkinese Alps” You can see many hill tribe people, their villages, rice terraces, lush vegetation, and Fansipan, highest peak in Vietnam. It is considered one of the must see places for Vietnam holidays.

This hotel has it all: sweeping views from the restaurant, two bars, a heated indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and a tennis court. Hotel guests can travel between Hanoi and Lao Cai in the resort’s Victoria Express

If you are in the process of booking your Vietnam Holidays and are not completely sure about which places to visit then perhaps this article will help you. Vietnam is fairly large in terms of land area with a lot to offer when it comes to culture, architecture, cuisine and nature however knowing what to incorporate in your itinerary can be a daunting task.

The Ancient Hoi An located in Central Vietnam is quite possibly one of the most charismatic and colourful towns in Vietnam . In recent years certain areas of Vietnam have being flooded with an excessive number of tourist and as a result the local character have being lost. Hoi An though still retains is local flavour despite a recent increase in the number of tourists and expats.

Hoi An is a very small fishing village with just few streets running alongside the river and some boardwalks on the tiny islands found in the river itself. These little promenades are full of markets which tend to be very busy since early hours of the morning. The old town is dominated by French colonial buildings often framed by beautiful flowers and lanterns.

There is relatively few traffic in Hoi An if you compare it to the rest of Vietnam where streets are infested with motorbikes, however you still need to be on your toes. You can walk to pretty much anywhere you want to go and try the local food markets and local dishes.

Interestingly and debatable is that two of the most famous local dishes — White Rose dumplings and Cao Lao — are said to get their unique qualities due to the water used that comes from a single well in Hoi An and the ash from a particular tree that grows only in Hoi An.

Additionally, the White Rose dumplings recipe is a secret, held by one family in Hoi An who supplies all the restaurants in town. White Rose dumplings do have a very light, soft rice paper that surrounds a shrimp filing and a garlic rice wine vinegar dipping sauce.

If you want to experience on of the most hectic and colourful backdrops of Hoi An – The fish market- then get up early morning when the sun is rising at around 5:30 AM. Small and big boats compete frantically to unload their fish and even before the fish reach the stands to be weight others are yelling and bargaining for the best deals on the purchases.

Last but not least are the beaches of Hoi An located only 2 to 3 miles from the town and reachable by taxi or bicycle. The beaches of Hoi An are not as busy as neighbour Da Nang and Nha Trang and are a perfect place to cool off the high temperatures.

Get some great package holidays choices for your next vacation. Find out the many Vietnam Holidays that can offer you a great price and time. Head online and learn more now.

If you need to remit to money to family members in Vietnam, you have plenty of options. One of the most common ones lately is using a prepaid debit card to transfer money to Vietnam, which involves sending your family member a plastic card in the mail, and adding funds when you can. Of course, to be sure that this method is useful to those in Vietnam, you should find out how many ATMs are available in the area, as well as how many retailers in this area accept cards.

Fortunately, ATMs are quite widespread, especially in the areas known for tourism. Larger cities are also full of them, such as Ho Chi Min City, Hanoi, and Haiphong. It seems that ATMs that take Visa cards are simplest to find, but there are also lots that take MasterCard. You can typically find any kind of ATM at local banks, such as Bank of America, Citibank, and Vietnam Bank, which all have locations in the area.

The typical fee for using an ATM is $2 USD, or approximately 37,000 dong. Many ATMs in Vietnam have a daily limit of about two million dong, which is around $111 USD. You can add up to $1000 USD each day to the card whenever you use it to transfer money to Vietnam, so if your recipient wants access to more than two million dong each day, they can check out retailers who accept cards.

Like in the United States, various major retailers in Vietnam accept debit cards to pay for items. However, smaller shops, particularly in the remote towns, do not typically take cards. In fact, the only areas you can count on to accept cards are major hotels and large stores, but most of them charge a two percent fee, so your family member should be prepared to pay a bit extra to use a prepaid debit card in Vietnam. Overall, cash is considered king in Vietnam, so your relative should always carry some.

Using ATM cards in Vietnam is akin to using them in other regions. However, the daily limit at ATMs may be an inconvenience for those who need to get more than two million dong out of their account daily. One way to fix the issue is to let your family member know that they might be able to pay some bills online, which may mean that they need to get less cash out than they thought. Otherwise, if this is an issue and few merchants near them accept debit cards, it may be wise to take another pathway to transfer money to Vietnam.

Vietnam holidays is definitely an awe inspiring country. The area is rich in both culture and heritage which draws travelers from all over. A popular activity to partake in, while visiting the region, would be booking one of the fabulous Mekong Delta Tours.

Every year people come from all over the world to enjoy the amazing sites and lovely scenery. The area has become quite popular with families who want to experience a wonderful area that welcomes visitors. There are plenty of historical landmarks so make sure to pack a camera.

Booking a tour

Some families choose to explore the Delta by themselves, but to really be able to experience the region to its fullest; booking a tour is the only way to go. Most groups are run by locals who know all the best places to see. Find a travel agent who can give some insight on a good guide.

The most exciting way to see the region is to do it by boat. They will take the entire family up the Mekong River and allow an experience like no other. The waterway is nearly the largest in the world and runs through several countries.

Due to the many canals that make up the region houses and villages have been built to float upon the water. The people of the area have been very adaptive in creating homes that would not flood out during rainy spells. The towns are very similar what most of us are used to and provide shops and restaurants just as one would expect to see.

The biggest attraction to anyone staying in the region would have to be the floating markets. They are open at day break and provide some of the most delectable foods found anywhere. Some merchants even make goods that make marvelous gifts for the people back home.

There is no doubt that Mekong Delta tours are amazing. There is a lush environment to explore on foot and plenty of incredible waterways to travel by boat. Not taking in the sites of this amazing place would be a huge mistake as it is an experience that will never be forgotten.

Hoi An is, without doubt, one of the prettiest and most charming Vietnamese cities and also boasts one of the best beaches in the world. It combines a mixture of interesting cultural, historical and religious sites that make it truly unique. There are many different hotels in Hoi An that can accommodate you comfortably during your time in this central Vietnamese town.

Hoi An was a busy trading port between the 15th and 19th centuries with traders coming from China, Japan, India and Holland to trade their wares. Much of the original town and buildings are preserved just as they were in the town’s golden age and this means that the city is a romantic and interesting location for tourists. There are also many different and lovely handicrafts that are made and sold around the town at artisan’s markets.

Another great thing that has been done around the Hoi An city center in order to preserve a feeling of the bygone era and make it a peaceful place to be is to ban cars and motos. This means that you can wander around in peace free from the honking and jostling that you will find in most other Asian cities.

Near the city are the interesting ruins of My Son and for a break from the history and to catch up on some quality bathing and sun baking time you can visit the nearby Cua dai beach and famous China Beach.

The town does not have an airport nearby so Hoi An is only accessible by road. It is easily accessible from Nha Trang and there are thousands of people who come each year to visit the charming historical town. Most people tend to stay at accommodation either around the city center or out at Cua Dai beach.

Hoi An is a beautiful and intriguing location to visit. There are several great hotels in Hoi An that will make your trip to the historical city a memorable one for all the right reasons.

If you are planning vietnam holidays then one thing that might puzzle you is where to find the best package holidays and tourist attractions in Vietnam.
