When you think of the traditional European vacation, Sweden may not quickly come to your mind but it is clear to those who visit that it compares quite favorably to many of the world's top choices. The secular scenery that wraps around historic Swedish castles, mountains and national parks can provide the visitor with an experience that will not soon be forgotten. With online passport services available, even an emergency pasport renewal can be handled quickly and easily.

When considering the destination you might anticipate for your vacation, Sweden may not be one of the first that come to your mind but I would suggest that you quickly consider it as a trip there will show you that it compares with some of the most beautiful, interesting countries in the world. International travel, of course, involves a passport and even if you are in need an emergency United States passport renewal, many online and local agencies exist to assist you quickly and efficiently.

Some of the most unique wildlife can be found in Sweden. On occasion, even the gigantic moose, apply call the king of the Swedish forest, can be found roaming the wild but at times, they even invade the cities and towns. Other incredible animals calling Sweden their home are the wolverine, wolves, large brown bears and lynx. They are waiting to great you but first you have to get to the shores of Sweden and to do that, you will need a USA passport.

Exploring some of Sweden’s landscapes promises to leave you breathless. One of the most unique experiences is getting to see the Midnight Sun. Heading to Alrid during the months of May and June means getting to see the sun during the times when you would expect the moon and stars to be out. Caves and mountains also provide tons of opportunity to become an explorer. A huge selection of cave networks allow you to explore into the heart of the Earth, and mountains such as Sylarna and Kebnekaise grant the opportunity to see the globe from an extreme birds-eye view. The National Parks of Sweden, such as Sarek and Abisko, allow visitors to see nature in its most pure form. Untouched landscapes filled with glassy lakes and white-tipped, jagged mountains create the perfect setting for family walks, picnics, or just natural exploration.

Nightlife, Swedish style, is a bit different than other places in the world. Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo are some popular cities and each has it own, unique personality with diverse attractions to temp the vacationer. If you are looking for a unique shopping experience, fabulous restaurants and perhaps a museum or two, it will certainly be wise to take time to find your way to these places. Malmo is a very large, multi-cultural place. This is defined by the over one-hundred languages spoken there. Gothenburg presents a seaside experience with is surprising since it is such a large city. I don’t want to neglect to note that Sweden is the home of Scandinavia’s largest amusement park.

Definitely take the time to learn about the Swedish culture and live like a native for a day. Every facet of Swedish art – music, literature, and art pieces – has influenced the global art community. Think ABBA. Visiting some of the huge Medieval castles in Sweden is another great way to learn a little of its history. All built between the 12th and 17th centuries, these castles stand as a testament to Sweden’s history. And not only are the castles worth seeing, the huge estates and fortresses are as well.

With the availability of emergency U.S. passport renewal services, getting a USA passport presents no problem at all and you can be off to enjoy the beautiful vistas of Sweden quicker than you think.

Resourceful Swedes are using rabbits to power a heating plant near Stockholm. This is not a joke – the frozen corpses of many thousands of wild rabbits culled each year in Stockholm’s parks and managed land are being used to fuel a solid fuel heating plant in Sweden.

The deceased rabbits are some of the many thousands which are culled each year as Sweden suffers from a chronic over population of rabbits in its parks. And the Swedes in their uber practical manner are showing themselves to be efficient and waste nothing.

Animal rights activists have claimed that domestic pets are also being rounded up and incinerated, but have produced little or no evidence to this effect.

“Those who support the culling of rabbits think it’s good to use the bodies for a good cause. But it feels like the power company is trying to turn the animals into an industry rather than look at the main problem,” said Anna Johannesson of the Society for the Protection of Wild Rabbits.

The rabbits who are going up in smoke were the inhabitants of Stockholm’s parks who are culled to protect the plants and trees on which they gorge. But some of them were tame domestic pets turned loose by owners who no longer want them, and obviously did mind what fate befell them.

Six thousand rabbits were burned last year, when their corpses were frozen and then sent to the heating plant at Karlskoga, in central Sweden, where the bodies were burnt in order to help heat the homes in the surrounding areas.

But animal rights activists have surprisingly called for improved treatment for the wild rabbits.

Mrs. Johannesson informed the newspaper Vart Kungsholmen; “We want to see them start looking at other solutions for the rabbits. Helsinki in Finland sprays the plants to make them unappetizing and they have also set up a system of shelters for animals to be donated to. They have come much further along than us.”

No one has wondered about a logical reason for the apparently illogical expending energy in freezing the rabbits before burning them later?
